Program Goals
As we progress through the school year, my goals are to not only provide solid technique in various dance styles, but to also inspire a deep appreciation for the art of dance. Aligning all lesson plans with National Dance Standards BLENDED WITH Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and incorporating Common Core literacy standards, all students will be introduced to the global history of dance through time as a cultural, social, and artistic expression.. Dance I, II, III, and IV have unique curriculum that focuses on each's respective required standards. You can click on any of the tabs above to learn about each.
Performing Arts in education is proven to increase student performance on assessments over a variety of subject areas, is a fun and healthy physical exercise, and a great tool to increase confidence. It is my hope that every dance student that passes through my courses learns more than they ever imagined about the art of dance, and that each takes away with them a desire to learn more about the world around them.. While I have experience in the competitive realm of dance, in the public school classroom, competing only with oneself will be our focus. Every dancer will present unique weaknesses and strengths, and it will be my goal to help each achieve their highest potential. Thank you for being a part of your students journey through education. Your role in encouraging their growth will be priceless to their future success. Anything that I can do to help, I'd love the opportunity. Let's make this a year to remember. ~ Ms. Wade
